Whatever the cartridge is, it's probably half-decent anyway (knowing Denon) and it might be worth it to replace the stylus, unless you're prepared to spend the money to get a new cartridge.The website below is a good one for informaton- it lists the replacement stylus for the cartridge on the D-45F and has a real good photo. If the photo doesn't look right, check the ones here:

You just very gently pull the old stylus asembly straight out. Good luck
