Ariston RD-11S Questions

Got my recently purchased RD-11S today...not Superieur as buyer indicated.

Two problems areas:

1. I have tuned many suspensions on both Thorens and AR tables. I cannot get the 11S to the point where the inner platter is more than an eighth to quarter inch above the metal plinth. I tightened the springs waaay overboard, and it barely changes. Is there somethign else I need to do to raise the platter level. I see several screws on the plinth...does that raise and lower it? There are two nuts down below. Does that affect it? Could it be the metal suspension apparatus is bent??? If I push real hard on it, the platter bearing well does rise up?

2. Never having seen/worked on an Ariston, I am wondering if the correct pulley came with it, or if it is missing something. The pulley just desn't seem tight enough on the motor spindle...it slips once the outer platter is in place. I know the belt is slightly worn, could it be a tight belt puts enough pressure to hold the pulley in place on the spindle??? Seems weird???

Thanks for any help to be offered. Again, I have tuned many springed tables...so no need to refer me to Analog dept.

Dave
