Hi MylesThanks for the remarks - I do not wish to be the source of misinformation.
I have a B60 attachment for our Fidelity Research 64X and this does allow very fine VTA adjustment "on the fly" so I echo your comment re small adjustments making big differences. At one stage I was putting stickers on the LP covers indicating the optimum setting for each disc but this became too obsessive so I've since relaxed, listened to the music, and only made changes when these were obviously needed.
Interestingly, I just checked and you are right again. The present arm setting is parallel to the record surface with the Dynavector te Kaitora installed. I know the rear of the arm was down for the deceased Koestu and Accuphase 2. However quite a few inmates are using older cartridges so I suppose the only general comment to be made now is that the arm should be parallel for most, if not all modern cartridges, but lower at the rear for earlier models.
Why does listening to vinyl have to be so complicated?
By the way Myles, congrats on the latest issue of your mag (only just received here down under). Much more interesting to me than some others I subscribe to.
Peace at AA
John
