well it depends a little on the geometry of your stylus, however, many stereo records have phase cancellations and dont sound good in mono. Many will sound just fine too of course, but while im a big mono fan I think it's always best to try and hear what the record what intended like to sound. there are so many great mono's maybe you should stick to them.
