Hi Fretless:You've brought up a couple of points which I meant to mention in my review, and forgot to. Yes, the cueing is definitely a bit vague, to the point that I just manually drop the needle unless I'm trying to play a specific track. Then I use the cueing arm. I think it's the shape of the cueing platform as much as anything; it's not level. It kind of bends upward in the middle, so the arm isn't sitting on it exactly perpendicular. Curious. Far as the goo goes, I just took a little dab about the size of a pea, smoothed it on with my fingers. I'm afraid if you put it on underneath, it'd ooze down too much into the cartridge pin area. If I had it to do again, I'd use less, as I ended up having to clean some off the front and sides of the cartridge, and some from the pins. It doesn't hurt anything if it does, and it doesn't leave any kind of sticky residue. I'm sure other things like BluTack would do much the same thing, but it wouldn't look as cool. Now that it's settled, it looks like someone's applied a really thick layer of polyurethane clear coat to it.
