I went to college in Buffalo in the '70s and Spyro Gyra, from Buffalo, played weekly in a small club called the Tralfamadore. This is before they made their first record. They were a lot of fun back then. The musicians would frequently sit in with other folk/rock type acts in the area. I have fond memories of them back then, but don't particularly care for them now. The whole smooth jazz phenomen hadn't taken off yet at that time, and SG were probably pioneers.
