IMO, the DB-8 is the better of the two. To my ears, at least, it was more accurate. The MS punches up the bass and upper mids.
It's a good phono stage but (again, to my ears) it was like adding fixed tone controls to the system.
I did compare it to the onboard phono stage in the DB-1 preamp.

The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
