Probably you have a cart damage problem now. As Story reported, that solder level heat should NEVER be applied to the cart pins. That the tech "barely touched the solder to the clip/combination" could well be enough to trash the cart ... the internal wiring is of very fine gauge and is not designed to be subjected to that sort of thermal stress. If you have or can borrow another cart, installing it onto the arm should provide you with confirmation. Also you could ask Soundsmith for an opinion. All this is an object lesson that it pays to carefully select techs working on your gear. When my Sony cassette needed work, Asylum members helpfully provided recommendations, one of which did 'surgical level' QC work on the deck ... charged more than the local guy "who fixes anything" ... and well worth every penny paid.
