I was not enjoying the report of the financial hit when something was lost in delivery. It kind of made me want to stick with MM stuff I can renew at home, that avoids such a service disaster, plus one only has to mount the cartridge once, among other practical considerations.
I have an old B and O cartridge that probably needs retipping. I liked the refined sound of a moving iron design, but was skeptical of the need for an adaptor, so didn't use it much. in looking back it was probably outperforming my system at the time . I only bought it because I was in a high end audio shop in Singapore where things were much cheaper than in the states.
I replaced it with a now discontinued top of the line shure , which had a lot more punch with the rock records I play, and probably fit my electronics better.
