Glad you like the Aja, as I just pulled the trigger yesterday as a Christmas gift to myself. I'll give it to my daughter so she can give it to me under the tree. I'll guarantee an excellent gift.Lots of opinions on these but as long as it sounds good I'll be fine with gifting this LP back to my kids when I pass. Got to send along some cool stuff I figure.
I liked Steely Dan from a young age and one of the few classic rock bands that I still listen to now more than ever. This album was their pinnacle in my opinion. Gaucho took the perfection too far. Steve Gadd on Aja vs drum machines on Gaucho is the difference I guess. And with Wayne Shorter passing this year... I dunno, this album just means a lot to me. The Gadd and Shorter jam on Deacon Blues is musical perfection.
