RE: Y'all can laff, but it's better than what I played my fuzzy warbles on when I was a kid.

This Steelman is what I had, just a different color (gray with red):

My first LP was a promotional copy of MY FAIR LADY which I must have played hundreds of times on the Steelman:

It is still playable as the microgroove stylus tracks in a different part of the groove than the railroad spike used in the Steelman. The Magic Marker number "1" is the first LP that I ever owned; I did this numbering for awhile but stopped for some reason; the marker dried up and I could not afford another one? Anyway, I wish that I had continued the numbering to this day.

Dad knew one of the bigwigs at WCBM in Baltimore, they did not play this type of music very much and he gave this duplicate record to Dad to give to me. I must have been the only twelve-year old who knew all of the songs and could sing-along with most of them. It is still one of my favorite recordings and now I do have better copies, both mono and stereo but my holy grail is to get another factory-sealed original (1959 or so) mono promotional copy.

Later Gator,
Dave
