It could be tough to get rid of the silverfish if they're living in your records. Some ideas from Good Housekeeping, but at least one of them is a non-starter for you ... reduce humidity. I'm sure a near impossibility in The Big Easy.
Diatomaceous earth is also probably not practical for you. It's very finely ground, powdered even, sea shells. Just the kind of gritty shit that just might do more damage than the silverfish. It's that grittiness and DE's propensity stick to whatever it touches is what gets the bugs. They crawl through it, it sticks to them, and then wears holes in their exoskeleton. Bad for them and bad for records too I imagine.
Maybe some kind of an aerosol bug bomb? Maybe? Depends on how effective it is at getting in between record jackets. I've had them in our attic spaces in the past and always took care of them with a bomb, but no idea how effective when dealing with record stacks.
