You might find the bypass accomplishes nothing.....

Depending on the gain of the phono stage in your integrated amp. Sure, cutting the leads from the tonearm to the built-in phono stage to a hard-wired cable that you can connect to your amp isn't a big job.

If it was me, I would install a high quality terminal block of some type, or even solder the tonearm leads to an RCA cable. A clamp under the tonearm cable would fix it in place, and the whole thing could be easily reversible.

The issue, however, is that you may not accomplish anything. Having a "mismatch" between inputs and outputs of various stereo equipment isn't that unusual. I'm guessing that with a normal phono level you find the CD output a bit hot.

You could consider installing inline attenuators for whichever output is hot, and that will balance the inputs so they match more closely.

I would be very reluctant to modify or change any piece of gear without fully understanding if it would work or not, as that will obviously affect any market value.

You have a nice budget system. If and when you decide to upgrade, as most of us do, you may decide to change out the integrated amp or turntable, and all of this goes away.
