RE: Help with VPI 12" 3D Tonearm

Without knowing more information about the epoxy used, it is hard to be precise, but some epoxy resins have a low softening temperature. it looks like your 3D arm has been subject to heat close to the heat deflection temperature which has resulted in the bend. Heat also causes degradation to the epoxy so this is definitely not a good condition for the arm.

The bend will require you to adjust arm height and potentially horizontal tracking, so it isn't "unusable". However, it is definitely sub-optimal and not in the original form that it should be in. If you bought it second hand, then I would be returning it.
