I've tried many record cleaning brushes and always go back to my original Discwasher D3 brush from the late 70's for a quick dusting pre-play. Still does the job of actually catching and lifting the leftover airborne lint off the surface. You can see any lint on the pad after a swipe. A thin line of a cleaning fluid and a couple revs of the LP and the record surface is clean. This is after a good wet clean and vacuum. Proof for me is inspecting my Bronze stylus after several plays with a magnifier and seeing no crud/lint buildup at all.
The D3 brush has the tiny standup fibers in rows with the grey or black backing, not the D4 with the red backing. That one has a flatter fiber pad and for me did not get into the grooves. Tried that one and doesn't work as well.
And all the newer knock-off Discwasher brushes are a poor fake. Most brushes just push the lint around the record without ever lifting it off the surface.
