The recording was made with ONE Calrec "Soundfield" Ambiosonic microphone

One mic array of four capsules arranged in a tetrahedron-of-sorts did all the soundfield capture.

If that mic had been as close to the singer's mouth as the usual multi-mixdown cardioid condenser is, on playback she would have seemed 18 feet tall, and the other musicians 20 feet away.

So, it's a compromise: you get excellent phase (arrival time) coherence, but, it's not as detailed as the usual mono spot-mic'ed vocal track.
