Standard for MM carts. AT recommends setting capacitance at 100-200pf.
I've a lot of experience with AT carts but not the old 95 (I've got the newer VM95C). Older ATs like 100-200pf, the newer VM series is much less sensitive.
I used an AT 150MLx with a Bottlehead Seduction phono pre (50pf) and low capacitance Blue Jeans interconnects and the cart sounded smooth and sweet. Capacitance over 200pf made it sound brighter.
On the other hand, the VM540ML doesn't seem to my ears any different at 300pf as it is at 100pf.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
