Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

I've got the Gil Evans set, and it's supposed to be all analog.

The master tape wasn't destroyed in the big Universal fire ten years ago, and apparently a lot of other master tapes didn't burn up either.
But "mastered from original tape" doesn't mean that the LP wasn't mastered from a digital safety copy and honestly, I don't care. It sounds terrific, the music is terrific, the pressing is flawless, so what difference does it make?

The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
