Talk about innovative! This group of musicians from Berlin has wowed audiences everywhere. Making violins and cellos sound like banjos, guitars and drums, they seem to have reimagined the traditional string quartet. Except for the cello, they all stand up when playing. And no sheet music for this group.
Their first release on vinyl is tremendous fun. They use lots of pizzicato which gives the soundscape a wonderfully buoyant feel. The selections are all original composed by three of the members.
The European pressing was flat and noiseless. I particularly enjoyed side 2. This is a beautiful recording and the sound on vinyl is immensely appealing.
