I own the top of range phonostage from Icon, the PS3 SE. The SE suffix refers to capacitors replaced by Jensen paper in oil caps and upgraded tubes. When I bought the PS3 I expected to be looking for rare and expensive NOS tube substitutes as that has been my usual practice with other tubed components. However it quickly became clear to me that the tubes supplied by Icon were so good that replacing them would be a waste of money. I subsequently purchased their HP8 headphone amp (again in SE edition, now with Mundorf silver and gold caps) and reached a similar conclusion.
Although presumably you will not have the Jensen caps fitted, Icon do have an upgraded tube set for the PS1. In your circumstances I would simply contact Icon in England (a good chance that you will speak with the designer David Shaw) and get then to send you the tube set for the PS1 SE. My guess is that the whole set will cost you less than a couple of NOS ECC83s.
