Five Live Yardbirds & Rock and Roll Music To the World

Yesterday I listened to a UK press of Five Live Yardbirds, a 1964 release that recently was purchased used from eBay. This is my 8th Yardbirds LP and I'm almost embarrassed it's taken so long to pick it up - it might be their best. Sonically it's awesome, kind of that exciting threadbare kind of sound I often hear from a soundboard without the vocal prominence. Tasty.

Next up was Ten Years After - Rock & Roll Music To the World. I wasn't expecting much from this eBay purchase, having bought it from a seller who had it for cheap, and had a Faces record I wanted. A bit laid back and trippy compared to the Yardbirds record above but a great record in it's own right. Good sound too - I'm glad to own it.

One of the things I did with my pandemic down time was revisit my blues and my blues rock collections. It's been very worthwhile way to spend time and very rewarding for my listening experiences.
