Well, I've never used any iteration of the 125, so I'm not the best person to answer the question. 125 MK1 has a different tonearm then MKII, same as 126. 126 has 3 different versions. The 126 III uses a DC motor, vs. the AC motor for the 1 & II versions. I believe the 125 uses the same AC motor as the first 2 versions of the 126.
