I've had the opposite problem too - convinced that I had a copy of something I distinctly remembering holding in the shop, searching for days and realising eventually that I never actually bought it....for reasons that I forgot!
It does indicate that we probably have waaaaaay too many records if we can't keep track of them or even remember if we own them or not!
