I road freighted mine from one side of Australia to the other and learnt the hard way.

I would recommend the following -
Remove the lid and pack separately.
Remove the inner and outer platters and pack each separately, place the bearing point of the inner platter in a protective cup of some kind.
Put a plug of some sort into the chassis bearing hole to stop the oil running everywhere and stop contamination getting in.
Remove arm counterweight and cartridge.
Tie the arm down to the armrest with a wire tie.
Pack very carefully.

Reassemble after cleaning and refilling with new Linn oil.
