Vinyl engine seems to be down. At least the cart database. And just when i need it. I use vintage mm with replaceable styli. You used to be able to score the common ones for free off of trashed tables, they seem pretty indestructible, and when you trash the styli, you can get a new one often for as little or as much as you want to pay. I grade used records so this is the way to go for me.
I am using the dj pre II phono pre.( also because i'm cheap). I discovered however that it has a max input of 4 milivolts ( or whatever the right unit is) and all my carts are close to 5.
Normally i would go on ebay etc and search for outputs but the database at vinyl engine is down.
What common vintage mm carts have lower outputs? I would like to get one around 4 and one a bit lower. They need not be high end.
