Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

Thanks!

I always listen to an album side when playing vinyl. In my 50 years or so of playing records I bet a single song got played less than 2 dozen times.

And for almost as long, I get rid of records that don't have a side good enough to play through. There have been many. That's kind of my minimum quality standard.

Actually I'm kind of embarrassed by the sound quality conversation. For several years now I've not agreed that vinyl records sound better than CDs. It's just not true.

Another thing. I usually will listen to one album side then move on to something else. It's about the right amount of time. Great CDs IMO usually, because of the length, detract from the overall quality of my listening session. I think switching gears from one great disk to the next is a reward in itself. Not having crappy records helps.

Nice to meet young people who have a clue. Were they buying new music or reissues?
