Harry Weisfeld of VPI does the same thing, and I think I remember his comments stated that the vacuum rinse after the ultrsonic did make a difference. He was using a VPI Cyclone for the vacuum rinse, but I just use a $200, heavily modified, Record Doctor V(see pic).
