As far as that Kempff Chopin pressing is concerned, I agree with you. I have an STS of the same recording and it's far more pleasing to one's ear. The big thing about the UK Decca issue is that it's only 1 of 7 ED-1 2000 series SXLs that I have in my entire collection. The original is in NM condition, but there is tape hiss that's the worse that I have ever heard. I listen to the reissue.
As far as my new little Audio-Technica, it's just been such a pleasure after not having my Helikon for 4 years. In all honesty, I will have to wait until I receive my rebuilt Lyra Helikon with that Boron rod attached once again.
That will be an interesting "shoot out" !
