IIRC, US Londons were actually pressed in the UK, for the most part. However, there may be an exception or two - what I read (I think it was in Culshaw's Putting the Record Straight) - when Decca released Britten's War Requiem, demand was so far ahead of supply that Terry McEwen, the head of Decca in the US, had copies pressed in the US. One wonders about the pressing quality and even the source material. I don't think the 60s were necesarily the best time for US-sourced pressings - look at what happened with Philips until they started bringing in pressings from Europe.
