A friend gave me this Wesco microscope. It works very well but the bed does not drop down low enough for my taller cartridges.

I got looking at the thing and the base is bolted to the vertical pillar so I cut a piece of plexiglass to go in between and now the bed drops down far enough for even my tallest cartridge.

I removed the parts that I won't be using, the other three object lens and the light apparatus under the bed (not the original light source, that's down in the base). This make getting at the object and positioning my light sources much easier.

I just thought I would share.
