A review I have in HFNRR (Oct 2015) was very complimentary about the sound quality - "I have heard few better designs at any price and the fact that it's able to achieve this for a sensible sum of money makes it an exceptional product." They gave it an 89% rating.
The comment was that the HF had been "sweetened" by having a slight cut in output from about 10kHz up.
It is optimised for MC - the only (slight) "negative" if you want to call it that was on the technical report relating to the overload margin on MM being on the low side (+16dB) if you are using very high output cartridges and like playing hot cuts. However, I would expect that unless you are playing test discs, you will rarely (if ever) be pushing into this region. On MC, the overload margin is a safer +21.7dB (based on the review sample).
