RE: What you have is a CD-R that looks like a vinyl record...

They're not obsolete for me just yet... I still use CD-Rs so that my mother can listen to her old LPs again after I've transcribed them! Much faster and easier for her at her age to just stick in the disc and press play and selecting the track number she wants than trying to squint at her phone, opening up the app and navigating to the file she wants.... and then fast forwarding until she gets to the point she wants. Plus she can see the track listing that sits in the jewel case because I can author the disc with the appropriate track markers rather than splicing the original file into the individual tracks.
