Finished re-cleaning the motor pulley, sub platter, and belt last evening. The SME 10 now locks to correct speed in approximately 10-12 seconds, so it appears there was some remaining oil contamination on at least one of those items.
So, all is well, and I will not need to bother SME (for now).
