Hi there I have had a lovely wooden Sterosound 77 record player. There are two issues that bother me

1. When starting 12 inch 33 rpm record the stylus jumps to the first groove. I've never had this on any other record player. You can definitely hear it
2. The audio sounds has a lot of emphasis on treble high frequency notes sibilance. This is despite me turning the treble control to minimum. Bass is very good as is the general volume.

Is there any way to correct both issues. I would hate to have to get rid of that player
