RE: Why Does The Denon DL-103/103R Sound So Magical?

Man, I have no clue where your magic lies, not to be argumentative, I'm glad you have some.

I agree that knowledge is ever expanding. I don't know how one could build "magic" into a device to reproduce music. The fact that there are vinyl demagnetizers for sale, with good reviews, should be enough to raise caution about accepted claims of performance beyond known understandings.

I don't, if I am correct, understand your objection to double blind tests. Since the fifties, it has been the way to separate illusion from reality , the things you think you hear verses he things you factually hear. I have played musical instruments since I was a child, I don't see how that would influence a blind testing. The test is only an end run around the illusions that hearing offers.

My point was hearing is only subjective, reproducing is best with facts. There is no heart and soul meter, but heart and soul effects hearing. It seems you might be mixing performance with making an exact copy of that performance and then playing it back with accuracy. .
