Your applied science is more a part of the bell curve than you would like to believe. Any one who can hear/feel music and can use test equipment, realizes that there is a ton stuff that can not be measured as of today. The blind test might weed out some posers but there are people who can hear and play music.
I think the clues may lie in if someone gets what Miles, Willie, BB, Etta, Aretha, Floyd. Etc... Are conveying. Where is the heart and soul meter and what does the sine wave look like when Joe Cocker starts to sing. We can say Magic is subjective and you must have a clue by now where my magic lies.
