I live in the Netherlands so Philips classical can still be had cheap in the thrift stores and on the flea markets. IMHO the Philips recordings, masterings and especially the pressings are world class. 1960s/70s/early 80s Philips records are consistant in quality. They came in the right type of inner sleeves so their condition is usually still very good. Compare that to the sticky plastic DGG inner sleeves.
Lately i found a huge COMPLETE Chopin box on Philips played by Adam Harasiewicz. 14 records, 28 sides! 1 record per day, that's 2 weeks of Chopin spinning!
