Your logic sounds good to me. Unfortunately, it will be virtually impossible to get a higher arm/cartridge resonance frequency than 14.25-Hz unless you completely change the tonearm.
The arm/cartridge resonance frequency in a 5-grams SME III would be 17.7-Hz and a 3-gram Infinity Black Widow would yield an arm/cartridge resonance frequency of 19.3-Hz. That's about the highest arm/cartridge resonance you will get.
Why don't you just try it in your Technics tonearm using a Technics headshell and see how it performs with its 14.25-Hz arm/cartridge resonance frequency? If it plays okay, so be it!
Best regards,
John Elison
