"...as soon as the stylus makes contact with the vinyl, the headshell pulls toward the label causing the cantilever to lean inward toward the label to a noticeable degree."

This is confusing me.

If the headshell is pulling towards the center of the record then the cantilever should be pulling towards the outside of the record (WRT to the headshell).

If this is the case then you need more anti-skate force applied.
