As already pointed out, there is no "Rega headshell", the headshell and arm are one piece. The 2M Blue mounts to the Rega arm with the 2 bolts included with the cartridge (the cartridge body is threaded so no nuts needed). Unlike with the 3-bolt Rega carts, you have to spend some time aligning the cartridge with the aid of an alignment protractor. I used the Stevenson protractor from the vinyl engine website. I printed it out on heavyweight matte photo paper, making sure it was reproduced to the correct size (measured with a ruler). I got good reults - good sound with no audible distortion across the whole record. As far as the 2M Bue sounding 'bright', I suppose there are cartridges with more 'body' and 'weight', but with the RB300 arm I am using the 2M Blue has a nice neutral sound, neither too bright nor too dark. High frequencies are very clean and extended, bass is sufficient but not overdone, and midrange is nice with overall good transparency. I may not have the optimum VTA as I am not using a shim under the tonearm and don't have any VTA adjustment, so I could possibly fine-tune the sound if I wanted to experiment with VTA. But it sounds pretty good the way it is, good enough to leave alone.
I haven't heard the Goldring 2100, but since the 2 reviews you posted were made by the same website, that should provide some valuable insight.
