There is nothing wrong with my headphones nor do they limit fidelity. The HiFi Man HE-400S is not the best headphone on the planet but they are excellent for their price point and outperform many headphones that are much more expensive.
If you are having performance issues with the high resolution download maybe you should look at your own digital setup to find the problem. Sorry, but I cannot find any performance issues with the download you wrote about. I can state without any hesitation that the problem is not in that download.
I spent this weekend auditioning the new Analogue Productions Bloodlines box set. That box set is all four of the Blood, Sweat and Tears albums, mastered from the original analog master tapes at 45rpm and pressed on 200 gm vinyl by QRP. This is very, very good vinyl.
I can guarantee that I know that my system is performing very well and my modest work system is also performing very well. Nothing is limiting the fidelity enough to mask any difference. I do not own the best system in the world but I do understand what I have and whether it is working or not.
I don't know why you are having problems with that download but I would be willing to post one of the tracks from that high res download on my website so you can compare it to your copy. Let me know if you want to try this and which track you want to try.
