RE: Steely Dan, Cant buy A Thrill

POS? Maybe you are right but reading around many people regard the Speaker's Corner pressing of this Steely Dan album as definitive. It would also be uncharacteristic of Speaker's Corner to issue a poor sounding disc (I have several). After all they were one of the originators of the whole concept of audiophile pressings and have earned a huge reputation over the decades.

I am not saying that your opinion is in any way incorrect , just that it runs against the grain. I wonder if what you hear is not the result of the disc but of your current set up, perhaps something has gone out of alignment or your stylus has reached the end of its useful life?

Edit. I just noticed your comment on another htread that you also find the Ortofon 2M Blue too bright. Perhaps there is a clue as to why you find the Dan disc to have harsh highs?
