First of all, thank you very much for this report!
Second, do you know if VPI is recommending this upgrade for its JMW9 arms?
And now, permit me to rant a bit: As an owner of a VPI Scout over the past 11 years or so, I find this upgrade to a dual pivot approach to be somewhat shocking. Henry and Matt seem to market it as a brilliant innovation with great glee and fanfare, and yet I am forced to ask, "Why did it take them so long to basically acknowledge that their unipivot design is flawed?" Why didn't they test the JMW arms against a gimbaled design from the get go? Why, after almost two decades of JMW arms, are they just now discovering something so fundamental to their design?
I love my Scout, and am mostly a VPI fan boy, but this shakes me up a bit. It's moves like this that open them up to some of the cries of foul one hears on these and other boards.
Or am I missing something?
