It already looks a lot better after a quick cleaning to get the dust off. I think some boiled linseed oil will help the wood regain its luster. The motor spins and being a manual design, there's not much else to go wrong. We'll see when I put on a new belt and do a basic clean & lube.

The tonearm does need attention, for some reason the bearings are loose.

The big question in my mind is whether it will spin at correct speed. Like many simple belt drives, the design is such that platter speed is wholly dependent on 'pulley ratio' which is fixed.
