RE: Conventional Wisdom and Turntable Design

The design is not substantially different from conventional suspended turntables or conventional wisdom for that matter. The concept is very similar to the Thorens TD125, because the main bearing, platter and the tonearm are rigidly mounted to the top plate which sits on a compliant or springy support.

The top plate wobbles - just as the sub-chassis wobbles with all suspended turntables.

An extreme example of this type of design is the Pink Triangle PT series: the sub-chassis which holds the tonearm and platter is made from a very light honycomb structure, and is hung from three very light springs. The slightest pressure applied to the platter causes the entire suspended structure to deflect.

But this is the whole concept of suspended turntable, which is completely different to something like the TD124.

If you had bought a Linn Majik, you would have just the same issue.

I think you should give this turntable more time.
