the *mere* $150k Clearaudio Statement is a bargain!
Using the one at Sea Cliff on several occasions was quite an experience.
It is substantially more massive at 350 kg(!), incorporates a magnetic platter drive and the whole upper structure gimbals in any direction like a ceiling fan when you give it a gentle nudge.
Naturally, I was extremely careful each time I played a disc. It was like going through a preflight checklist:
1. Disc thoroughly cleaned on HW-17. Check!
2. Demagnetized with Furutech device. Check!
3. Platter ring in place. Check!
4. Gain down. Check!
5. Goldfinger carefully cued over lead in groove. Check!
6. Release cueing and verify landing. Check!
7. Gain up - slowly. Check!
Phewww!
Now sit down, close your eyes and experience the walls disappear before you. :)
