I was dating a woman last year who took me next door to meet her young neighbor friend. The neighbor woman had a Crosley Crapola, and put on a record while we talked. The speed was all over the place, fast, slow, and fast again.
I didn't say anything, but walked over to look at the table. I checked to make sure the DC plug from the wall-wart was secured in the back, which it was.
I was the only one who noticed. She was a thirty something hipster, and was listening to LPs because it was cool among her peers. Maybe there's some who will become aware of how bad these things sound, but I doubt there will be a mass awakening. It's just another fad, but I'm happy to see it. More new and eventually used records for me, even if some of them were played on Crosley Crapolas.
