I might suggest the Audio Technica AT-LP120 turntable. It looks like a total ripoff of the highly successful Technics 1200 series. But for a starter table it has some nice features. Auto arm lift/stop at the end of the record, detachable head shell, and direct drive. It's also available in a USB model. Reviews have generally been positive. And, it's available in Deutschland. I saw one in a music store in Berlin in the record/CD department.
