city with many high end stereo stores, record stores, and electronics shops. I witnessed many audiophile enthusiasts in these places talking and looking at high end turntables, speakers, and amplification equipment. Some of the local manufacturers produce beautiful and innovative speaker systems as well.
Singapore also has annual hifi and electronics shows like Las Vegas and hifi internet sites. I cannot remember if they have their own audiophile magazines.
Singapore also has amazing electronics stores that you can walk into and buy the most intricate parts for DIY or audio repair. It would be like walking in and browsing Mouser or Digi-key.
Singapore is also one of the cleanest cities that I have ever visited after traveling all over the world except Africa.
This does't mean that this turntable is not a knock-off, but I would not expect that in Singapore. I would possibly expect that in mainland China, where I saw authentic and knock-off products.
