excellent post. I typically dump after a weekend of cleaning so i dont let my solution set around. I have about 4000 records and still have about 1000 that need initial cleaning. However, water is cheap. Isopropyl alcohol is cheap, and i have enough triton to last 2 lifetimes so cleaning solution is pretty cheap. As far as filtering, its mainly to get rid of the dirt (ie solids dislodged from the grooves) only. If you remove water soluble junk, it should stay in solution unless you really have grossly dirty records. Oil contamination is sometimes present (greasy hands handling records) but if you have a good cleaning solution, it isn't a problem. However, if you are trying to conserve the solution, you would need to worry about the Micro growth as highlighted above
